Tsinghua University will continue to carry out the Yau Mathematical Sciences Leaders Program this year. It recruits middle/high school students from all over the world who have excellent overall quality, outstanding mathematical potential, and specialties. From undergraduate training to doctoral level studies, we are committed to cultivating future leaders in the fields of mathematical sciences in China and globally.
1. Qualification of Applicants
1.1. Middle/high school students from all over the world who advocate science, have good physical and mental health, excellent academic performance, show outstanding mathematical potential and expertise, and are determined to engage in scientific research throughout their lives.
1.2. This batch is open only to outstanding students (9th to 12th grade) who are currently studying outside mainland China.
2. Application Method
Applicants shall apply online, fill out the application form in the application system, and submit it after completing the form (no need to mail application materials).

3. Selection Procedure
3.1. Preliminary evaluation: The expert group will review the materials submitted by applicants, focusing on a comprehensive evaluation of mathematical expertise, academic ability, daily performance, and innovation potential. The results of the preliminary evaluation will be published in the application system. The results will be classified as "pass" or "fail." Applicants who pass the preliminary evaluation will be eligible to participate in the testing phase, while those who fail will not be able to proceed to subsequent stages. Students with outstanding performance in mathematics, physics, informatics, or other relevant areas may apply for exemption from the mathematics skill test or professional interview.
3.2. Test: The test phase includes mathematics proficiency test and professional interview. The tests will mainly be conducted online, and specific arrangements will be based on the notifications in the application system.
3.3. Shortlist: The evaluation committee will provide a recommendation for the shortlist based on the preliminary evaluation results and test scores, applying strict standards and prioritizing quality over quantity. The final results will be discussed and approved by the Tsinghua Undergraduate Admissions Committee, and will be published in the application system.
3.4. Admission confirmation: Applicants who have been shortlisted should confirm as required and claim the Tsinghua University 2026 “Yau Mathematical Sciences Leaders Program” Certification.
3.5. Preparatory course training: Applicants who are shortlisted for the "Yau Mathematical Sciences Leaders Program" shall, in principle, come to campus for preparatory course training in the spring semester. During the preparatory period, students' adaptability to university study will be inspected, and admission procedures will be completed after passing the inspection. If unable to participate in the preparatory course due to International Mathematical Olympiad selection or other reasons, they may proceed with the admission process directly upon approval from the university. Any missed courses in the preparatory course training shall be replaced with other designated corresponding courses after coming to school.
4. Admission Policy
Admission method: Applicants in this batch who are shortlisted will be admitted individually according to relevant admission procedures. Specific methods will be notified separately.
