Throughout its history Tsinghua University has nurtured and attracted large numbers of outstanding experts and scholars. The university has followed the guideline of "hiring as well as cultivating talented people" and has created opportunities to help broaden the capabilities of the young teachers. By the end of 2021, Tsinghua has 3,738 faculty members, among whom 1,790 faculty members are under the age of 45. Tsinghua has a Nobel laureate, as well as winners of A.M. Turing Award, Fields Medal, Wolf Prize, Crafoord Prize and the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award.
